Almost every aesthetic clinic in the country calls itself award winning. Very few will tell you what the award actually measured.

Some are decided by patients. Some by a panel. Some by whoever filled in the form and paid the fee. They are not the same thing, and if you are deciding where to trust your face, the difference matters a great deal more than the badge.

So this page does not just list our recognition. It tells you what each piece of it is based on, and lets you weigh it yourself.

This is the recognition I care about most, because it is the only one generated entirely by people who actually sat in the chair.

The clinic holds over 250 five-star patient reviews across Glowday, Google and Trustpilot. Glowday verifies that a reviewer booked and attended, which means a review cannot be written by anyone who was not treated.

Every one of those appointments was carried out personally by me. There is one injector in this clinic. Nothing is delegated, and nobody is treated by someone they did not consult with. You can read them on our patient reviews page.

Named in Glowday's Top 10 aesthetic practitioners in Manchester

In July 2026 I was named one of the top ten aesthetic practitioners in Manchester by Glowday, the UK's largest independent booking platform for medical aesthetics.

What makes this one unusual is how it was decided. There was no nomination, no entry form and no fee. It was ranked purely on the recency, number and quality of verified patient reviews, and the clinic's name was hyperlinked in the feature alongside practitioners with far larger teams. For a single-injector clinic, that is the number I am proudest of.

In 2026 Marie Claire UK published an investigation by beauty journalist Lucy Abbersteen into the sexism and classism behind the UK's aesthetics safety crisis: unregulated injectors, counterfeit product and the women who are blamed when it goes wrong. I was one of the medical sources the title chose to quote.

Being asked is not an award, and I have not listed it as one. It is here because a national title choosing you as an expert voice on safety is a different kind of recognition from a badge, and because the piece says things about this industry that every patient should read before booking anywhere, including here. Two of those are industry awards that clinics apply for. I have said so, because the honest version of this page is more useful to you than the flattering one.

How the clinic started

The clinic did not begin at 2 Crown Passages. It began in a single rented room at Pembroke House in Wilmslow.

I opened it with my sister Louise, who is Creative Director and Patient Coordinator. Her route into this was her own experience of skin health and confidence, and she is the reason the clinic feels the way it does rather than like a treatment room with a price list attached.

When Altrincham Today covered the launch in May 2025, I put the aim this way:

"Our aim isn't just to treat the surface, but to improve skin health at a deeper level, always with safety and integrity."

Louise put her side of it more simply:

"We want every client to feel heard, understood, and empowered."

The approach behind the results

I am a practising NHS GP with nearly twenty years of medical experience, an independent prescriber, and I hold a Level 7 postgraduate diploma in cosmetic injectables from Harley Academy in London. I have been practising aesthetic medicine since 2017.

What that background changes is not the injecting. It is everything around it. A thorough history before anything is agreed. A careful assessment of what has actually changed in your face. And a willingness to tell you that the thing you came in asking for is not the thing that will help, or that you do not need anything at all.

Consultations here are unhurried and without pressure. Nobody is upsold. If I do not think a treatment will give you what you are hoping for, I will say so, and I would rather lose the booking than take it. You can read more about how that works in what happens during a consultation.

What to check before you book anywhere

This applies to any clinic, including this one. Given what the Marie Claire investigation sets out, these are the six questions worth asking.

Ask Why it matters What a good answer looks like
What are your medical qualifications? In the UK, practitioners do not currently need medical qualifications to administer dermal fillers. Relevant qualifications and, where applicable, a professional registration you can independently verify: GMC, NMC or GDC.
Who prescribes the toxin? Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only medicine. Prescribing must follow the applicable professional guidance and include an appropriate patient assessment. A named, appropriately qualified prescriber who has personally assessed you in accordance with professional guidance. Ask who will actually administer your treatment.
Where does your product come from? Counterfeit and unlicensed injectable products have been identified in the UK. A named, legitimate UK supplier, appropriate product documentation and a practitioner who is happy to explain exactly what they use.
What happens if something goes wrong at 10pm? Some complications require urgent assessment and treatment. You need to know who is responsible for your aftercare. Clear emergency contact arrangements, an established complications protocol and immediate access to appropriate emergency medicines, including hyaluronidase where hyaluronic acid fillers are used.
Are you insured, and for what? Insurance requirements vary. Regulated healthcare professionals have professional indemnity obligations, but these do not automatically extend to every aesthetic procedure. Evidence of current insurance or medical indemnity that specifically covers the treatments being offered.
Can I have a consultation without booking treatment? You should have time to understand the risks, alternatives and expected results without pressure to proceed. Yes. You can attend a consultation, ask questions and decide against treatment without pressure.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the best aesthetic practitioner in Hale or Manchester?

There is no objective answer, and I would be wary of anyone claiming to be it. What you can check is verifiable: medical registration, who actually performs the treatment, verified patient reviews and whether the clinic will explain what its awards were based on.

What does "award-winning" actually mean here?

Several different things, which is why they are separated out above. The Glowday listing came from verified patient review data, with no entry fee. The Marie Claire citation was an editorial decision. The two Global Excellence Awards are industry awards. The Women's Health Club listing is a reviewed membership.

Why does it matter that you are an NHS GP?

Mostly because of what I will not do. This is an aesthetic clinic, not a general medical service, so we do not investigate or treat unrelated medical conditions here.

What twenty years in medicine gives me is the clinical judgement to recognise when something in front of me is not a cosmetic concern at all, and to say so plainly. Where appropriate, I will recommend assessment by your own GP or another medical specialist rather than offering an aesthetic treatment that was never going to be the answer.
