Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to improve skin quality rather than change your facial shape.

Instead of “filling” lines like traditional dermal fillers, skin boosters use highly hydrating hyaluronic acid and/or nutritive complexes to:

• Deeply hydrate the skin

• Improve elasticity and firmness

• Soften fine lines and crepiness

• Boost radiance and overall skin health

At our doctor-led clinic in Hale, near Altrincham in South Manchester, we mainly use Profhilo, along with NCTF and Redensity 1, to deliver natural, fresh-looking results.

At Dr Caroline Warden Skin & Aesthetic Clinic in Hale, we focus on premium, evidence-based skin boosters:

• NCTF 135HA by Fillmed – a mesotherapy-style skin booster combining hyaluronic acid with vitamins, minerals and amino acids

We use Profhilo as our primary skin booster because it:

• Contains an exceptionally high concentration of ultra-pure hyaluronic acid

1. Consultation

2. Treatment

   • The skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepped

   • A fine needle or cannula is used to place small amounts of product at specific points and depths in the skin

   • Profhilo is typically injected at 5 bio-aesthetic points each side of the face; NCTF and Redensity 1 use a series of micro-injections across the treatment area

3. Aftercare

   • You receive clear aftercare instructions and your follow-up appointment schedule

Most appointments take 30–45 minutes, depending on the area treated.

This varies by product and individual skin needs:

• Profhilo®

  • Usually 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart

  • A 3rd session may be recommended for more mature or sun-damaged skin

  • Maintenance every 6 months

• NCTF 135HA (Fillmed)

  • Typically 3–4 sessions, 2–4 weeks apart

  • Maintenance top-ups every 6 months, depending on skin and lifestyle

• Teoxane Redensity 1

  • Commonly 3 sessions, 3–4 weeks apart

  • Maintenance every 6 months

We’ll design a realistic treatment plan that fits your skin, schedule and budget, whether you’re local to Hale/Altrincham or travelling from further across South Manchester or Cheshire.

You’ll usually notice:

Downtime is usually minimal:

• Small bumps or “bee-sting” marks at injection sites (especially with NCTF and Redensity 1), which usually settle within a few hours to 24 hours

• Mild redness and possible light swelling for up to 24–48 hours

• Occasional small bruises, depending on your skin and any blood-thinning medications

Most patients feel comfortable going back to work, school runs or errands in Hale and Altrincham straight away, and can usually apply makeup after 12–24 hours (if the skin is intact and clean).

Yes

Profhilo

Uses a very pure, thermally stabilised hyaluronic acid made by IBSA’s proprietary process.

IBSA are known for pharmaceutical-grade HA (they also make HA for eye drops and joint injections), with very low levels of BDDE and endotoxins compared to older-generation fillers.

Teosyal Redensity 1 (Teoxane)

Contains non-crosslinked HA plus amino acids, antioxidants and vitamins in a mesotherapy/skin booster formulation.

Teoxane also emphasise highly purified HA and low protein / endotoxin levels, because these reduce the risk of inflammation and immune reactions.

NCTF 135HA (Fillmed)

Uses non-crosslinked HA with 59 “revitalising” ingredients.

Again, it’s produced under medical/dermatological standards with purified HA specifically for intradermal use.

So yes: all three are medical-grade, highly purified hyaluronic acid injectables manufactured by established European pharma/aesthetic companies, under tight quality controls – not random beauty brand cocktails.

When brands talk about “ultra-pure” or “highly purified” HA, they’re usually referring to:

1. Very low endotoxin levels

* Endotoxins are fragments from bacteria.

‍ ‍ If they’re present in higher amounts, they can trigger redness, swelling, flu-y feelings or inflammatory nodules after injection.

‍ ‍ High-quality HA is purified to keep endotoxins extremely low, which reduces the risk of those reactions.

2. Low protein/impurity content

Leftover proteins or contaminants from the manufacturing process can make the product more “visible” to the immune system.

‍ ‍ The purer the HA, the *less likely the body is to overreact.

3. Controlled crosslinking / stabilisation

Some fillers use BDDE (a crosslinking agent) to make HA last longer.

‍ ‍ In skin boosters like Profhilo, Redensity 1 and NCTF, the HA is non-crosslinked or differently stabilised, designed to spread and hydrate rather than form firm “lumps”.

‍ ‍ The combination of purified HA + gentle stabilisation gives good longevity but with a “soft”, natural feel.

4. Pharmaceutical-grade manufacturing

* Produced in facilities that follow strict pharma standards (GMP), with batch testing, sterility checks, etc.

* That’s what separates them from cheap, non-regulated or grey-market injectables.
