Profhilo vs Other Skin Boosters: Which Treatment Is Best for You in Altrincham?

Expert skin science insights an award-winning holistic aesthetic clinic in Altrincham. Written by Dr Caroline Warden, NHS GP, cosmetic dermatology specialist and leading aesthetic doctor in Hale, South Manchester

Over the past few years, non-surgical skin rejuvenation has become the fastest-growing area in aesthetic medicine. Patients increasingly want better skin, not a different face smoother texture, improved hydration, healthier glow and natural, understated rejuvenation.

At my doctor-led aesthetic clinic in Hale, the two most requested treatments for this are:

✨ Profhilo

✨ Other Skin boosters (such as Redensity 1, Fillmed NCTF 135HA and polynucleotides)

But patients often ask:

“Which is better for me

“Do they do the same thing?”

“How do I choose?”

This comprehensive guide explains the differences, benefits, and ideal candidates for each treatment so you can make a confident decision about your skin.

What Is Profhilo?

Profhilo is one of the most advanced injectable skin treatments available and is considered the gold standard for improving skin quality.

It contains one of the highest concentrations of ultra-pure hyaluronic acid (HA) on the market but because it’s not crosslinked, it does not act like filler. Instead, it spreads evenly under the skin to trigger:

  • Collagen production

  • Elastin production

  • Hydration

  • Tissue remodelling

  • Skin tightening

Profhilo is particularly powerful for:

  • Crepey skin on the cheeks

  • Sagging or loss of firmness

  • Skin laxity around the jawline

  • Dull, dehydrated skin

  • Fine lines on the neck

Treatment plan:

Two sessions, four weeks apart, then maintenance every 6 months.

What Are Skin Boosters?

Skin boosters are very light injectable treatments designed to improve:

  • Hydration

  • Glow

  • Fine lines

  • Texture

  • Skin quality

Different boosters have different ingredients, benefits and ideal treatment areas. Here are the ones I use extensively in clinic besides Profhilo (the most well known)

1. Teosyal Redensity 1

A beautiful option for tired, dull, dehydrated or sun-damaged skin.

Redensity 1 contains:

  • Hyaluronic acid

  • 8 amino acids

  • 3 antioxidants

  • Minerals

  • Vitamin B6

It gives an instant glow and is particularly effective for:

  • Tech neck lines

  • Crepey cheeks

  • Early fine lines

  • Décolletage rejuvenation

  • Under-eye brightness

Best for: radiance, hydration, a “lit-from-within” glow

2. Fillmed NCTF 135HA

Fillmed NCTF 135HA is one of the most advanced mesotherapy-style skin boosters available. It contains over 50 active ingredients, including:

  • Hyaluronic acid

  • Amino acids

  • Coenzymes

  • Vitamins

  • Minerals

  • Nucleic acids

  • Antioxidants

This makes it exceptional for improving:

  • Dullness

  • Uneven texture

  • Fine lines

  • Skin density

  • Early ageing

  • Lack of vibrancy

Best for: full-face rejuvenation, pore refinement, long-term skin health

3. Polynucleotides

One of the biggest breakthroughs in regenerative aesthetics.

Polynucleotides help to:

  • Reduce inflammation

  • Increase elasticity

  • Repair damaged or fragile skin

  • Strengthen the extracellular matrix

  • Improve crepey under-eyes

  • Reduce redness (great for rosacea-prone skin)

Best for: regeneration, elasticity, thin or fragile skin, under-eye rejuvenation.

Why I Do NOT Use Seventy Hyal

Although Seventy Hyal is popular online, it’s not a product I choose to use in my medical clinic.

Here’s why:

1. Limited clinical evidence

Compared to Profhilo, Redensity 1 and Fillmed NCTF 135HA, Seventy Hyal lacks independent long-term studies.

2. High molecular weight HA alone

It does not include vitamins, minerals, amino acids or coenzymes — meaning it offers hydration but not the multi-layered skin health benefits of premium boosters.

3. Inconsistent results

Patients who have previously tried Seventy Hyal often report:

  • Short-lived results

  • Minimal textural improvement

  • Not enough glow

  • No reduction in fine lines

I prefer clinically robust, evidence-based products with proven outcomes.

Profhilo vs other Skin Boosters: What’s the Difference?

Profhilo

✔ Lifts and tightens

✔ Remodels skin

✔ Improves crepiness

✔ Deep hydration

✔ Improves elasticity

Best for: lower face, cheeks, neck, jawline

Other Skin Boosters

✔ Hydration

✔ Glow

✔ Fine-line smoothing

✔ Texture improvement

✔ Brightening

Best for: under-eyes, crepey cheeks, neck, chest

Can You Combine Profhilo & other Skin Boosters?

Absolutely, in fact, this is one of the most transformational skin protocols.

Example combination:

  • Profhilo: structure + firmness

  • Redensity 1 or NCTF: glow + hydration + texture

  • Polynucleotides: regeneration + strengthening

Together, they improve every layer of the skin.

Real Patient Case Study: “Sarah, 48 — Dullness, Fine Lines & Crepey Skin”

Concerns

A patient (we’ll call her Sarah) visited my Hale clinic feeling that her skin looked “tired, flat and crepey,” especially around her lower cheeks and neck. She also struggled with dehydration and early laxity but did not want filler or anything that would change her facial shape.

Assessment:

On examination, Sarah had:

  • Mild loss of elasticity

  • Fine lines on the neck

  • Dehydrated skin

  • Textural dullness

  • Crepey lower cheeks

  • A weakened skin barrier from years of harsh skincare

Treatment Plan:

Instead of choosing one treatment, we combined:

Profhilo — 2 sessions

To stimulate deep hydration and elasticity and to target crepiness on the lower cheeks and neck.

Fillmed NCTF 135HA — 3 sessions

To brighten, smooth texture, refine pores and support long-term skin quality.

Medical-grade skincare

To repair the barrier and enhance collagen response.

Results:

After 8 weeks, Sarah described her skin as “the best it has looked in years.” We observed:

  • Brighter complexion

  • Noticeably smoother texture

  • Plumper, healthier skin

  • Reduction in crepiness

  • Softer neck lines

  • More even tone

  • Overall “lit-from-within” glow

She now maintains her results with Profhilo every 6–9 months and skin boosters twice per year.
